We are happy to announce that Patagonia's Jumbo Wild is now on Netflix and available for millions of subscribers to watch instantly for the first time.
For decades, First Nations, conservationists, backcountry skiers and snowboarders and local residents have fought a proposed large scale ski resort deep in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia. A film by Sweetgrass Productions, Jumbo Wild depicts the decades-long battle over the future of British Columbia’s iconic Jumbo Valley – highlighting the tension between protection of wilderness and the backcountry experience and ever-increasing development interests in wild places.
Since the film’s premiere in November, we've…
· Shown the film in 19 countries, 35 film festivals with 200 screenings and
· Brought together 31,700 attendees with an amazing story of wilderness, activism and backcountry skiing and snowboarding, and
· Collected approximately 23,000 petition signatures in support of permanent protection for the Jumbo Valley!
All petition signatures will be hand delivered by our partners at Wildsight to the government of British Columbia in the coming months.
